What Is an Avil Milkshake?

// 01

Avil, aval and the texture of the drink

Avil and aval are names used for flattened rice. In a milkshake, that rice is part of the eating experience: it can add soft grains or a more textured layer rather than disappearing into a perfectly smooth blend. How it is prepared, how finely it is processed and how long it sits in the liquid all affect the result.

Banana and milk are common companions, and nuts or flavourings can change the taste and texture. There is no single recipe shared by every shop. This guide describes the style, not a complete ingredient declaration for every UFO flavour.

How it differs from a regular milkshake

A regular shake usually puts its flavour and blended consistency first. Avil adds a grain component, making texture part of the choice. Choose it if you like a drink with more going on than a uniform sip; choose a conventional shake if smoothness is the main attraction.

A thicker drink is not automatically higher in protein, healthier or a balanced meal replacement. Portion size, added sugar, milk and toppings all matter. We do not publish calorie or protein estimates without recipe and serving data.

Choosing an Avil flavour at UFO

Our published menu has Classic Banana, Cocoa Comet (chocolate), Peanut Pulsar (peanut butter), and Dates & Nuts. Classic Banana is the straightforward place to start if you want the banana-led style; the other names describe different flavour directions, not guaranteed changes to the entire base recipe.

The Avil range is separate from the refreshers in our burger combos. If you want a shake with a meal, check whether it is a separate order. Ask for the actual ingredients if you avoid dairy, peanuts or other nuts, and ask about shared equipment and cross-contact.

Ordering and enjoying it

Enjoy the drink soon after preparation for the intended temperature and texture. Flattened rice can absorb liquid over time, so a shake carried home may feel different from one tasted at the counter. Follow staff guidance on storage rather than treating a milk-based drink as shelf-stable.

For a first order, choose by flavour rather than assuming the richest-sounding name is the most suitable. At Broadway Cinemas, tell the team if you want the simplest option or have a dietary requirement before the drink is prepared.

// QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is Avil milkshake the same as a banana milkshake?

Not necessarily. Banana is common in Avil preparations, but flattened rice is what distinguishes the style. A regular banana milkshake need not contain it.

Is Avil milkshake dairy-free?

Do not assume so. Milk is common in this style. Ask staff for the current recipe and suitable alternatives; no dairy-free UFO version is confirmed here.

Does every Avil shake contain peanuts?

Recipes vary. UFO lists a peanut-butter flavour and a dates-and-nuts flavour, but flavour names do not provide complete allergen or cross-contact information.
